1. In old Roman Calendars, one year used to be 10 months long, starting in March and ending in December.

2. The name for March comes from Mars, the Roman God of war. It was named as such in both Julian and Gregorian calendars.

3. Saint Patrick’s Day occurs every March 17th, celebrated in many western countries to commemorate the day Saint Patrick died.

4. The birth flower for March is the Daffodil.

5. March is the time of year when animals start waking up from hibernation.

6. March birthstones are: Aquamarine, and Bloodstone which symbolizes courage
