Cards from restaurants, movies, Amazon, Lowes, ect. Are good choices. Purchasing local gift cards (Pizza King, Harbor House, Sal’s, C and C Country Market, Davellis, Sweet Serenity, Every Fiber) also helps support small businesses in our community.
If you can help by purchasing a gift card, please it off to Brandy or Mel at the Center. As always, any contribution you make to NSC is tax deductible, and we will gladly give you a receipt.
Thank you to those members that have already donated cards to past and future events, we appreciate your generosity.

To Our Wonderful Crew
If you are a member of the Nanticoke Senior Center but don’t visit very often, you are missing out on a lot of enjoyment.
For $50 a year, you can exercise, shoot pool, play cards, watch a movie, take short and long trips and for extra $7.00 you can either sit down or take out a delicious lunch that includes dessert and beverage. The lunches vary weekly. Curtis and his staff bend over backwards to please us (and being old, yes, we are no Spring Chickens), and our taste vary, but they do a wonderful job. They are friendly, and we don’t even tip them.
There is a nice long table just waiting for a game of Dominoes or your favorite card game. Come on out! If you don’t accept this invitation, you are missing out on a lot of fun. You can’t find a more friendly staff anywhere just waiting to please you. And, please don’t stop serving liver & onions on the last Tues-day of every month. I would have a very unhappy camper at my house.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you staff for just being you. We are not an easy bunch to please, but you sure try.
|
Christmas Happenings
Nanticoke Senior Center will be closed for the Holiday’s, December 24th & December 31st.

There will be a special table set up in the lobby with cards and stationary to make this easy.
Please help us spread the JOY!!! |

We are not a daycare facility. We enhance people’s lives so that they can stay home longer. We lengthen the gap of independence. Our money comes from membership, trips, activities, fundraising and grants. |

Reiki helps reduce stress, headaches, insomnia, upset stomach, sprains, and many other conditions. Reiki also promotes psychological healing, including release of anger, fear, worry, sadness and other unhealthy feelings, & replaces them with self-worth, confidence and tranquility. |

Wine Every Night?
Your brain might stay sharper longer It’s a fact that brain function declines as you age. But one way to keep it in tip-top shape is to drink moderately—for example, by drinking one glass of wine at night. A study by Columbia University analyzed 1,416 people and found that those who enjoyed alcoholic beverages in moderate amounts experienced slower brain function decline than nondrinkers. |
What's Your Story?
Tell us your story. As I have gotten to know many of you over the past year, I know you have stories to tell. We will be featuring member stories in our monthly news letter to highlight the positive impact NSC has had on the lives of so many of our members. Stories can be dropped off to Patti in the front office or emailed to : |

Benefits of a Glass of WineYou might get sick less often. While there is no replacement for a healthy diet loaded with all of the illness-fighting vitamins and nutrients you need, research has found that wine possesses immune system-boosting benefits. "The antioxidants in wine increases heart-healthy HDL cholesterol as well as keeping the immune system strong,” says Kristine Arthur, MD, internist at Orange Coast Memorial Center in Fountain Valley, California. "HDL helps to prevent "bad” plaque build-up in the arteries, which can also help prevent heart attacks and strokes. |

Old Age is NOT for Sissies

We lose longtime friends, beloved spouses, and family members. It is not an easy path. Yet, there are still so many ways to find joy while working within the limitations you have. We offer many fun actives, plus trips to help keep you active. Stop by the Center and see what we have for YOU!!! |
Fitness Center Safety
Please do not workout alone in the "Fitness Center” always have someone there for your SAFETY and their SAFETY. SAFETY FIRST. |

Jane Webb has retired from the Nanticoke Senior Center Board. Active in many other community activates, Jane joined our board in 2003. She leaves the board with the following words: "It has been an honor and pleasure to be a board member for years with the positive growth and prosperity that has taken place at NSC.” She is looking forward to spending time with family and friends, and plans to do some travel-ing, but adds: "As a member of NSC, I feel it will continue to be a part of my life. It certainly is a life enhancement facility.” |
